A&M adds to China disputes, investigations unit
Christina Ju among four news hires with a collective experience of 25 years
The Asset 22 Feb 2024

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) will expand its China footprint with a new Shenzhen office and the extension of its disputes and investigations (DI) capabilities in Beijing.

A&M China’s geographic expansion, the company says, reflects the evolution of its business and talent bench strength. Since 2020, the North Asia team has more than doubled in size, achieving 145% growth in the past four years.

This growth builds on the firm’s existing DI lines of service for helping Chinese corporates, multinational corporations and state-owned enterprises navigate complex cross-border disputes and evolving data compliance regulations.

The firm’s China DI team is adding four newly hired practitioners, with a collective 25 years of experience, including Christina Ju, who joins as a senior manager. Ju focuses on eDiscovery, digital forensics analysis and cross-border disputes involving data transfers regulated by the personal information protection and data security laws.

Eden Chen, the firm’s managing director of DI practice in Shanghai, adds: “eDiscovery technology is changing how forensic technology is conducted across China. The team’s expansion, collective experience and deep local market knowledge, coupled with our integrated platform and freedom from audit conflicts, furthers our ability to help clients manage challenges and capitalize on opportunities.”
