Financial services firm Sun Life has appointed Randy Lianggara as its president of emerging markets for Asia, effective November 1, reporting to Manjit Singh, president of Sun Life Asia.
In this newly created role, Lianggara will help to drive growth across the company’s businesses in the fast-growing emerging markets of Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia as well as oversee its joint venture with China Everbright Group in mainland China.
Lianggara, who will also join the company’s Asia executive team, joins from Aviva where he most recently held roles as regional CEO, Asia and regional CEO, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Prior to that, he spent a decade as CEO of AXA Indonesia.
“Lianggara is an industry veteran with a proven track record of success building and leading insurance businesses in emerging markets,” Singh says. “He will be instrumental as we continue to expand our presence and help more clients across Asia to live healthier lives and achieve financial security."
