Standard Chartered bags top honour at Treasurise Awards 2025
DBS, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, BNP Paribas and Bank of China major winners at industry-leading recognition gala

Last night in Hong Kong, Asia’s top CFOs, treasurers and service providers gathered for a festive celebration at The Asset Triple A Treasurise Awards 2025. Smiles, laughter, and jubilation filled an energized ballroom as we celebrated the achievements of the past year. We paid tribute to the most outstanding treasury solutions across markets and regions, and we honoured the service providers who expended boundless energy and creativity in meeting the demands of their clients. It was a memorable evening of fun and substance culminating with the announcement of major regional winners, Oscars-style.

Standard Chartered takes the Best Transaction Bank award this year amid a highly competitive field of banks vying for the top accolade. During the review period, the bank demonstrated the ability to consistently service its clients across its extensive network, particularly in the high-growth regions of the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, where the bank acts as a super connector.

A number of clients engaged by The Asset’s board of editors were impressed with the bank’s proactive approach in providing impactful treasury advisory solutions to address their pain points through integrated multi-currency cross-border cash pools or syndicated trade finance. Moreover, the bank has been investing heavily in its digital capabilities to improve user engagement and deploy useful fintech solutions for the benefit of its clients’ treasury operations. The bank also remains committed to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, offering clients a range of products to embed sustainability into their operations.

Likewise, DBS has been proactive in helping clients from various business segments to achieve their ESG aspirations. The Singapore-based bank wins the Best ESG Transaction Bank. The bank has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable financing. Over the review period, DBS supported clients in their net-zero transition by deploying various solutions, including trade financing for renewable energy companies.

The bank has also established ESG-linked financing and sustainability-linked supplier payment services to address Scope 3 emissions. DBS has received positive reviews from clients for their hands-on approach in helping companies of all sizes with their ESG goals, offering a number of tools to help companies assess their sustainability readiness and carbon emissions.

Winning the Best Treasury & Cash Management Bank award is Deutsche Bank, which has demonstrated its ability to support clients’ highly complex treasury functions, including payments and collections, while helping them meet their liquidity management goals. The bank has been the go-to bank for new economy clients, helping them process high-volume and low-value payments. Deutsche Bank also has embedded an effective FX module to help CFOs and treasurers better manage their foreign exchange risks. Clients have appreciated the bank’s advisory approach in setting up real-time treasury functions involving instant payments and automated reconciliation.

HSBC has defended its title as the Best Working Capital & Trade Finance Bank against a number of banks also looking to help clients navigate the volatile supply chain landscape amid the economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. The bank is supported by strong client testimonials acknowledging its ability to think outside the box and offer bespoke solutions for their financing requirements. Whether it be in documentary trade or open account trade, the bank has consistently offered meaningful trade financing services to clients across multiple markets. The bank has also offered a number of technology platforms such as its successful TradePay, which has made it easier for trade documents to be processed.

Another repeat winner is BNP Paribas, which takes home the Best Supply Chain Finance Bank award. The bank has continued to display its expertise in executing large programmes involving multiple suppliers or obligors across markets and currencies. The bank has received positive comments from clients who have benefited from its supply chain solutions, highlighting the bank’s efficient implementation process and proactive approach. BNP Paribas has also offered a variety of supply chain finance solutions, from primary syndicated programmes to insured programmes from various providers.

Winning the Best Renminbi Bank is Bank of China, which has shown solid expertise in guiding clients across multiple markets on how to leverage the renminbi within their finance operations, whether it be tapping the onshore China capital markets or offering effective settlement solutions for companies. During the review period, The Asset board of editors heard directly from a number of clients how the bank was able to provide up-to-date insights into market policy around the Chinese currency.
