Lioner International Group, an integrated insurance, trust and family office consortium, has appointed Gary Mak as general manager for Hong Kong.

Mak will oversee the group’s operations in the special administrative region, driving sales strategy, commercial execution, and advisor engagement across the firm’s 3-in-1 wealth structuring platform.

He will also play a pivotal role in scaling Lioner’s presence across Asia, enabling the firm to better serve the evolving needs of high-net-worth ( HNW ) and ultra-high-net-worth ( UHNW ) clients.

His remit will include leading the rollout of advanced, AI-driven solutions across Lioner’s operations – from client onboarding and compliance to sales intelligence and portfolio servicing.

Mak has over 20 years of senior leadership experience, spanning life insurance, brokerage, bancassurance, and fiduciary-related services. He has held key positions at leading institutions, including Fubon Life, ACE Life, AXA, MetLife, and New York Life, where he was instrumental in building high-performing distribution networks and developing wealth structuring solutions tailored for HNW clients.

Most recently, he served as head of brokerage at Fubon Life ( Hong Kong ), where he was officially appointed as a key person in intermediary management by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority.
